Niaz is a first-year graduate student in the MFT program at Cal State Dominguez Hills. She is passionate about trauma-informed and culturally responsive care, and she plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology to ultimately combine academic research, teaching, and private practice. Niaz firmly believes that impactful clinical work is rooted in active engagement with research and discovery. Her research interests center on the mechanisms linking trauma to the development of psychopathologies, specifically Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and the long-term neurobiological impacts of childhood trauma on the development of Alzheimer’s disease. She is deeply passionate about finding new evidence-based practices to improve treatment outcomes across diverse clinical populations.
