Peter Martinez

Peter Martinez is a first year Clinical Psychology Graduate Student at California State University Dominguez Hills. He obtained his bachelor's of science in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego in 2022. There he took on roles as an undergraduate research assistant and undergraduate teaching assistant. He then spent 2 years as a special education assistant and phonics teacher in the greater Los Angeles area. That experience is what currently influences his interest on the impact of cultural background and early life experiences on emotional well-being and processing. Peter’s ultimate goal is to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology to become a Professor and establish a research lab. Outside of academia, you can expect Peter enjoying a wide range of activities. From playing pickleball to enjoying magic the gathering with his brothers, he spends his free time enjoying reading, music, baking, and photography.
